10 Of The Best…

Bars & Clubs in Chester to visit on your Hen Night!

This post is a work in progress as we make our way (bar crawl) around Chester town in pursuit of a good time!

Entertaining a hen party in Chester is a bit of a tricky one.

Our city has a wealth of uber modern, intimate swanky joints to swill wine in after a long day/week or go out for a fabulous ladies evening of cocktails.  And honestly, there’s nowhere like it – it’s just such a beautiful place.

But not everywhere in Chester is up for a wild night of feather clad, willy wearing riot girls tearing up the dance floors!  Chester’s just not that kind of place.

Chester’s clubs, bars and pubs have varying degrees on how Hen friendly they are, but there are a few that really know how to handle a party of ‘Girls Just Wanna Have Fun’ bunnies.

Here’s where we like so far…

Vodka Revolution Chester

106-110 Foregate Street, Chester , CH1 1HD

Why We Love It:

Vodka Revs is the most Hen Friendliest bar in Chester, and the lovely folk at VR have been working with us for over a decade, so it’s no secret that we like it.  Here’s why:

They have a great selection of food on the menu – with enough choice for absolutely everybody in the group, and they do GOOD FOOD at a REASONABLE price, which is important when you are feeding ten or more!

Their cocktails are amazing, and you can even step behind the bar and make your own! (If you book a Cocktail Masterclass in advance).

The staff and service are great!  Always really Hen-friendly and accommodating.

Their venue is spacious, with enough places for you and your group to either stand, sit or even tear up their dance floor!  It really is the perfect one-stop venue for Hen Parties.

The Church Chester

Newgate St, Chester CH1 1DE

Why We Love It:

There’s nowhere quite like The Church, and once you step through it’s grand entrance – you’ll quickly see why!

It’s an impressively refurbished Victorian church, and as a party venue is a dazzling blend of ancient and ultra modern, where you can wine and dine in style, or sit in your own swanky booth, cocktail in hand and just marvel at it’s opulence!

Church offers a specified party menu of around £20pp for a 2 course dinner, or £25pp for a 3 course.  Other Hen Party offers may be available – visit our Food Offers or Drinks Offers pages to find out.

Fiesta Havana

39-41 Watergate St, Chester CH1 2LB

Fiesta Havana Chester Website

[yasr_overall_rating size=”large”]

Why We Love It:

Fiesta Havana is a Cuban cocktail bar, nestled in the city center.

Home of the best mojito’s in town, Havana’s has been firmly planted in this quirky listed building for over 14 years.

The bar has seen it’s fair share of hen parties, gaining experienced party staff – they know how to cater for a good group of gals!

The usual advice would be to book your food early of course, however HERE – we recommend you book a later table.  Food and table service goes right up until 10:30pm, but if you book a 9pm table, you get to keep it for the rest of the night – meaning you and your girls can eat, drink, dance, drink, dance, order more nibbles, dance, drink ……..

Rosie’s Night Club

12-16 Northgate St, Chester CH1 2HA

Rosie’s Night Club Website

[yasr_overall_rating size=”large”]

Why We Love It:

Is there anyone left who has never been here?!

Rosie’s nightclub has a great reputation for looking after hen groups so it’s another tick in the box from us for Hen Friendliness!

The staff will take care of everything, from sectioning your very own VIP area (a handy luxury at any club!), to fetching non-alcoholic drinks for the non drinkers in your group.

With three floors of various music and atmospheres – you can relax knowing that there will be something for everyone in your party.

Rosie’s is the one in Chester that’s ‘Open Til Late’ too so if by the end of the night you seem to be missing a few chickens … there’s only one place they can be!

TIP:  Mind how you go on the stairs though.

The Red Door

Below Blossoms Hotel, St John St, Chester CH1 1HL

[yasr_overall_rating size=”large”]

Why We Love It:

The Red Door is only a little bar, but what a little bar it is!

Decedent decor, top notch cocktails and great music too.  If your planning a visit, we do recommend calling in advance to reserve a table as these are limited.

The Red Door is Hen Party friendly but because it is a small, intimate venue (which we love by the way), you can’t get away with oversized fancy dress costumes (so the T-Rex outfit and giant inflatable willie’s or balloons is a no-no sorry girls!) fair enough.

Open til seriously late (4am!), The Red door(s) are open to you and your group til 2am – which is great for the hardcore party gals for a bit of last woman standing cocktails!  OR you could always take advantage of their Hen Party offer of Two4One on Prosecco if that’s more your thing.

The Botanist Chester

13 St Werburgh St, Chester CH1 2DY

The Botanist Chester Company Website

[yasr_overall_rating size=”large”]

Why We Love It:

Have you ever been to The Botanist?  If not then we genuinely feel sorry for you for missing out!

The menu’s are always unbeatable for both food and drinks, the ambiance seems to be a delightfully eclectic mix of lively, but laid back.  Modern and fresh but at the same time comforting and ‘old familiar’.  It’s well dressed but unpretentious and we have had many nights here, sometimes in our glitz, and sometimes in our casuals and yet the experience has been the same – great food, lovely staff and service, relaxed but fun atmosphere, comfortable surroundings and cocktails to die for!

But the thing we like the most for Hen Parties is the flexibility that you get here.

The Botanist have offered us not one but TWO fantastic Hen Party offers (see the Offers page), but if you would like to tailor a deal to your own specification then we find the lovely folk at The Botanist most accommodating so it’s well worth giving them a ring!
